I speak to large and small audiences, mostly college and law school students, about how careers can serve as a springboard to offer ideas to a larger community. It is important that every person's life experiences give him or her a niche that can be used to educate others for the betterment of our world. That is what I have chosen to try to do with the things that I learned over my 30-year career, and that is what I hope I can teach others.

My speeches have been characterized as part motivational, part educational, and part humor, laced with a lot of common sense. After my seven back surgeries over twenty years sidelined me from my career as a trial lawyer, I decided to change my craft from jury persuasion to persuasive speaking. I taught law school, served as a mediator for resolution of cases, and began writing and speaking. I am a good example of the point that a person's career can take many turns. When I was a student, I went through the same fears and apprehensions that all students experience dealing with career path choices. My talks help listeners understand that learning in life does not end in college, and that adaptability, communication skills, integrity and humility will give everyone an advantage on life's twisting road.
