I speak to radio and television audiences, large and small groups, including business groups, college and law school students, seminars, trade meetings and concerned citizen groups about specific steps every citizen can take to maximize the safety of their own medical care. It is critical that each patient understand the steps he can take to save himself or his loved one, in order that each of you can avoid becoming a statistic of the medical system. That is what I have chosen to try to do with the things that I learned over my 30-year career, and that is what I hope I can teach others.

My speeches have been characterized as part motivational, part educational, and part humor, laced with a lot of common sense. After my seven back surgeries over twenty years sidelined me from my career as a trial lawyer, I decided to change my craft from jury persuasion to persuasive speaking. I taught law school, served as a mediator for resolution of cases, and began writing and speaking. I am a good example of a person who has become intimately involved with the medical system, and I know through my own personal, as well as my professional experience, what can go wrong, and how to right it.
