I write and speak to educate people about how they can avoid becoming a victim of medical errors. I hope my efforts will help to stem the tide of nearly 200,000 lives lost every year to hospital error, and to help people guard against medication errors that annually cause 1.5 million injuries, and cost billions of dollars to treat. People can learn to take steps to protect themselves and their loved ones, and learn how to be their own best advocate.
I subscribe to multiple daily internet feeds to obtain news regarding healthcare quality, affordability and access. I post the important ones on my blog and forum so you can keep abreast of the news!! If you want to know more about Medication Error, Healthcare Insurance, Hospital Error, Doctor Misdiagnosis, Dangerous Drugs, come to this website to stay abreast of what is going on, and you can even post your thoughts and comments.
The reason access to good healthcare is important is that the odds are that you or a loved one, sometime in your life, could be hurt by medical error. You can be your own best advocate so that you will not become one of nearly 200,000 lives lost every year to hospital error, or become one of the use 1.5 million people hurt by medication error. Healthcare consumers expectation is for safe care, but patients must have the knowledge to help themselves. Many of our laws are highly unfair to victims of healthcare error, do nothing to reduce medical error or the cost of healthcare, and do nothing to make healtcare more available. Patients can obtain the knowledge to become their own best advocates.
